Childbearing and the changes to your body after having had your children may leave you with:
loose abdominal skin and loose stretched or bulging tummy muscles
breasts that may lose their shape, size, and even begin to sag.
excess fat in the flanks and waist.
Mommy Makeover surgery is a selected combination of surgical procedures tailored to our patient’s needs and expectations. Commonly, a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), can be combined with breast enlargements using gel breast implants or saline (salt water filled) breast implants.
Some patients benefit from breast lifts (mastopexy surgery) combined with their tummy tuck.
Recovering After Your Mommy Makeover Surgery
We have our patients wear a tummy binder for 4 weeks and a post-op bra will be discussed, as well. We tell our patients that 10-12 days will be an average expected time for early recovery. During this period, you will have swelling, discomfort, and the need for help with some daily activities and the children. You also will be seen in the office for follow-up on a regular basis. Pain medication can be reduced during this period of time, as tolerated. Remember that you can not take pain medications and work or drive.
After 8-12 weeks, our patients look dramatically better and feel on-the-mend with their early result. By this time, your physical activities are usually restricted only by discomfort.
