FAQs Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost for a consultation?
Consultations with Dr. Raskin are free of charge. You should plan 45-60 minutes for your consult.
Why can you get me in for an appointment so quickly, while other plastic surgeons may take weeks?
We are able to accommodate you in a very reasonable time since Dr. Raskin specializes in Breast and Tummy surgery.  He dedicates his entire plastic surgical practice to your needs only in these areas.
Where will my surgery be performed?
Our surgeries are usually performed at the Surgery Center at Kissing Camels, a small, personalized, and fully-accredited outpatient surgery center. We also operate at the Audubon North Surgery Center.
How long after my consultation are you scheduling for surgeries?
Often we are able to schedule your surgery within two to three weeks.
How do I know if I need a breast augmentation or a breast lift?
During your consultation, you and Dr. Raskin can discuss whether you desire the increased volume that a breast augmentation provides, or whether your breasts are “droopy” or “saggy” and need a breast lift, or a lift with implants.

We participate in a program that helps woman in need if you are interested in donating any of your bras or tank tops that no longer fit you after your breast augmentation surgery. This program specifically benefits women in the Colorado Springs community.
What is the difference between a tummy tuck and liposuction?
A tummy tuck can remove excess skin and fat in the abdominal area after childbirth or weight loss. Liposuction is most often utilized for stubborn areas of fat. Liposuction alone will not tighten saggy, loose skin that remains after childbearing or weight loss.
How long after nursing can I have my surgery?
In most patients, it is safe to do breast surgery approximately 3-4 months after nursing.  You are welcome to have your consultation before you stop nursing to learn about the procedure, discuss your desires with the doctor and develop a plan for timing your surgery and recovery time.
I’m flying into Colorado Springs to visit, how long do I need to stay in town after I have my surgery?
Ten days to 2 weeks is optimal but many of our patients go home and return for their follow up care. How well you recover may dictate office visits more frequently after your surgery.
May I pay over time for my procedure?
Our office accepts cash, cashier’s checks and most credit cards. We also work with two finance companies: Prosper Healthcare Lending and CareCredit, for those who want to finance their procedure over time.
What is the recovery time for my procedure?  How much time should I take off from work?
Please call the office to inquire about the specific recovery time for breast or tummy surgery.  Depending upon your specific surgical needs, your activities of daily living and child/work physical demands, Dr. Raskin will carefully guide you so that you may resume your pre-surgical activities in a safe and workable timeframe.
What kind of implants does Dr. Raskin use?
We use Sientra Gel as well as Mentor Gel and Saline implants.
What if I need a doctor’s letter for return to work?
Dr. Rasin Plastic Surgery can provide you necessary documents for your employer.
Do you do Remove and Replace of implants?
Yes, we can provide removal and replacement of your implants. Prior implant information and a surgical note from your prior surgery is helpful.
